After Effects Of Citalopram

By Derek Shannon

Citalopram is a common drug widely used to treat major depressive and chronic depressive disorders. The most popular brand name of this medication is Celexa.

Citalopram belongs to a group of drugs classified as selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. These are the most up to date and most popular types of medications for depressive disorders.

Prior to going onward with the purpose of this article, I want you to know that this is an incomplete list and that not all side effects of this pharmaceutical have been reported. If you should have any rashes or abnormal feelings while taking Celexa be sure to seek medical advice immediately.

The adverse reactions of Citalopram are scattered dramatically from one end of the spectrum to the other. They can pose problems for your nervous system, respiratory system, and all types of others.

This article is only intended to talk about the more common after effects related to Citalopram. However, we will be showing you links to other pages where you can get a more complete list. We do not believe that anyone should be persuaded into taking a medicine unless they are fully aware of the hazards to their health that are involved.

The most common and general side effects of Citalopram or usually not much to worry about. They include fatigue, fever, and asthenia. Asthenia is a term used to describe a lack of usual strength. If you have recently started taking this and you feel tired all the time or start to feel feverish then you should cease use immediately and consult a physician.

Alcohol intolerance, hot flashes of sorts, rashes and hives have also been reported as adverse reaction to Celexa by its consumers. Like the ones previously mentioned on this page, they will more than likely become less problematic as you get more used to taking this prescription. Do not ignore these signs though. Report it to your doctor as you may need to lower your dosage.

In very few cases patients have also reported problems such as concentration problems, stiff or rigid muscles, memory loss, nausea, headaches, trouble breathing, and hallucinations. These are considered to be some of the more serious reactions and you should definately report these to a nearby hospital immediately.

You should consider going to find a more complete list of any plausible Celexa after effects if you are thinking about using this medicine as your depressive disorder treatment of choice before consulting with your doctor.
